Furness

Thanks to all of you who came out and supported Charlie on his Fun Run….his report is on the links!! Enjoy, and again thanks.

The Furness area is the latest addition to the NISCU team! The team is based out of Ulverston but works up the valley to Coniston, across the Duddon estuary to Millon and along the Furness peninsula to Dalton. We have a secondary schools worker, Charlie Day and the Furness area is linked with the work of the Furness Deanery Network Youth Church.

Supported by volunteers from the local churches we are able to run three Big Questions lunch groups aimed at tackling the bigger questions of life. We are also able to run a peer mentoring scheme in one of our schools. As well as this we have also been welcomed into schools to deliver assemblies across the area and work on transition lessons and assemblies.

We’re very much looking forward to developing the work across the Furness area and seeing young people develop in their faith through the work NISCU does in the area.

Please pray for the Ulverston Victoria High School, John Ruskin School, Millom School and Dowdales School and their staff as we start to work with them and their students.

Please do pray for the Furness area as we start this new venture!

How can you help?

The most important help you could give us right now is to join us in prayer for the area. If this is something you would like to do then click on the link below and let us know, and we can send you weekly prayer information.

Second, we need to build up relationships between churches and schools, so if you could:

  • Be an NISCU ambassador in your church – these are people who pass information on to supporters in your local church, and pass information back to NISCU about how your supporters are doing
  • Let us know if you are a youth or children’s worker (or if you could let them know to get in touch!!)
  • Email us if you would like to be part of a team of workers that can support youth in your local schools.

Finally, if you would like to give financially to the work in the Furness area, then follow the link to the giving page.
