Is prayer always answered? Sometimes it seems not, but Jesus tells a parable here that encourages us to persist.

Ask, Seek, Knock: These verbs are in what is called the Imperative- so the sense of them is ‘keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking’ – until you get your answer. Jesus really wants us to pray and keep on praying!

Sometimes it helps to keep a prayer journal, making a note of things you’re prayed for and then recording answers as they come. Remember to give thanks when they do.
