This is the only passage where Jesus is referred to as an Apostle, though the term is entirely consistent with his life and ministry. Here we see the attributes of an apostle highlighted – appointed by God, faithful, worthy of honour, a builder of God’s house, bearing witness to what has been spoken by God

Apostle

Literally, a messenger, specifically commissioned with a particular message, and carrying the same authority as the one sending the message. They therefore had to be faithful both to the sender (God) and to the message they were appointed to carry.
