Jesus has given the Church special gifts, in the form of different kinds of leaders. While our particular type of church may or may not use these as titles in it’s own leadership structure, they do nevertheless represent important categories to build up the church.
Comes from a word used in architecture to mean building a structure – so Christ gives various types of leaders so that the church can be built up. Leadership gifts are not given for leaders’ own celebrity!
