Post Sorell was the small village where my family lived in Tasmania.
The river  was at the back & the sandy ocean beach to the side.

The church we went to  was a large wooden building with Sunday School at 2 pm-3pm.

The teachers came from the town 12 miles away, collecting the farm & outlying children as they came.

We village children walked there taking care not to meet a very poisonous snake on the way.
The lead teacher would welcome us & often invite someone to suggest a chorus or Hymn to sing.  We loved to be chosen and some had actions, and parts.

Each week there was a new Bible verse to learn & depending on how well we could say it we were given a yellow, red or blue small card to pop into our match box.
At the month’s end the person with the most blue cards, who could say it the best, was given a Bible book.

Our teachers all really loved Jesus & read their bibles daily. We learned the stories well & were happy to go each Sunday.

Many verses are still with me today & have kept me in the love of Jesus.

I think the best story was how Jesus lived & died for us.
He taught us Who God is because He was God in human form.

In the Old Testament the best stories were about those who loved God & were treated very badly because they would not stop obeying God’s way, like Daniel & Joseph.

Sunday School taught me that no matter what I did God still loved me.  if I did anything really bad He would still love me but not the wrong I had done.
