I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 27: 13-14 NIV

Today is International Earth Day, and the theme for 2024 is “Planet vs Plastic”, which sounds  a challenge to me. Does anyone else find themselves asking “What can I do?”

David, in his challenges, chose to seek God and to use his voice and time to praise God and thank Him declaring he would choose to “gaze on the beauty of the Lord and seek Him” (Psalm 27:4). What a privilege and necessity it is to spend time in God’s presence and use our voice in praise to God, the creator of heaven and earth. Let’s lift our requests to God, and as we seek Him and seek to dwell daily with Him, we can ask “teach me your way, Lord.” (Psalm 27:11).

Continuing to daily put our trust in the Lord, as David wrote in Psalm 27:13-14 “I will remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” we are taking the decision to actively wait and trust God with our challenges.

Since praying and asking “What can I do?” to help with the issue of plastic and care for our earth, I have been urged to reduce our plastic use and waste at home even more, and to write a simple letter on behalf of a Christian charity to speak up for those in other parts of the world most impacted by the plastic issues. I wonder what will stir in your heart?
