Today marks the end of half term for many of our schools in the area; a change of scene, a rest and break from normality or a chance to do something different. Talking of a change of scene, I took this half term to move house. Although I am the only one living in the house, this was far from a solo effort, in fact, I was blown away by the amount of people and church family who helped and contributed to my new home in some way.

This week also marked Random Acts of Kindness Day (17th) and I was certainly the grateful recipient of many of these, both on this day and around it. From people giving many different bits of furniture, shifting boxes, driving me around, buying things, providing snacks, designing the decor and celebrating with me. My house is now not only filled with furniture and all the essential things but an abundance of love and care and visible answers to prayer.

The Bible tells us the Church is like a body, each with our own gifts to give in different ways but given in love, often through random acts of kindness. Together, with each of these gifts, we built a home and it struck me that that is what we aim to do in NISCU. Each bringing our own gifts, whether that’s creative gifts of dance, art or writing, or administration, listening, financial gifts, time, prayers, shared resources, advice, time with schools, teachers and pupils, I could go on. We each bring our gifts in love to share our hope and build homes for children and young people as best we can.

Whatever your gifts or interests, we are all part of one body, all working for one Kingdom home.
