Global Intergenerational Week (24th-30th April)

Although in NISCU, our primary focus is helping children and young people find a Hope and a Home in Jesus and the Church, we’re a very multigenerational family of supporters, volunteers, staff, children, teenagers and much more!

We could not do what we do without the work, prayers, enthusiasm, help and love of all generations working together.

The phrase ‘from generation to generation’ appears a lot in the Bible, as we see how far God’s love stretches, from His covenant to Abraham to bless all nations through generations of descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on seashore.

The Bible teaches us to teach our children diligently, when you sit in your house, walk on the road, when you lie down and when you rise (Deuteronomy 6:7), to tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done (Psalm 78:4), to tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children and their children to the next generation (Joel 1:3).

We are also called to become like little children ourselves as we enter the Kingdom and not to hinder little children “for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).

I have the privilege most days of teaching the next generation about the good news of Jesus, but equally I am constantly amazed at the things I learn from these children and young people; from their thoughts, reflections, questions and boldness and I am constantly also learning from the faithfulness, wisdom and support of those further on in their journey.

Let’s give God the glory throughout all generations, forever and ever!
