This week, from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th June is Volunteer’s Week!
This means we get to say a great big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers in NISCU. We are so grateful to all those who regularly and faithfully go into schools, advise and direct our staff and generally do all sorts of things to support this ministry.
Many of us have the privilege of calling this ministry our work but there are many more who give up their additional time and energy freely to see children and young people hear the good news of Jesus and grow in faith. And this happens in so many ways!
We have puppet teams of people bringing the good news of Jesus into schools in brilliant and entertaining ways, we have people going in to listen to children particularly those that may not have anyone to listen to them at home, we have people come in week by week to help with lessons and clubs and assemblies and building up relationships with the children, people who support and pray for the staff, people who make and share resources and much more.
We are so blessed to have so many different gifts across NISCU and such a wonderful team of people giving of themselves to use these gifts in service of others and of God. It reminds me of a verse on a piece of artwork in a church room we occasionally use: “I will not give an offering that costs me nothing” (2 Samuel 24:24). Week in, week out, volunteers give up something of themselves to see our children and young people flourish and for that we praise God and we thank you, volunteers!
