We’ve just come back from Czechia where we served on a Scripture Union English Camp for a week, teaching an hour of English most days. After seeing God at work last year, we were looking forward to seeing what He had in store this year.
Every morning, we had a devotion for the leaders from Mark’s gospel. One verse we took away was 10:27, ‘Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”’ The devotion leader was saying how when we pray, we should pray with faith, believing that God can do what we are praying for.
This was important as Wednesday night included the gospel talk where one of the leaders shared his powerful testimony with a time for the young people to respond and ask Jesus into their lives’. One of the leaders was praying specifically for a small group of children and was greatly encouraged when some of those children stayed after the testimony to reflect and talk it through with someone.
This encouraged us as it was all part of God’s plan for many of the 30 young people to reflect and consider Jesus. On the last night we had an open mic evening where anyone could share a thought at the end of camp. A girl from the small group being prayed for stood up and said that this camp has made her realise that God was with her all the time. This was incredible to hear and a joy to see what God had done in her heart over the week. We want to encourage when you pray, pray with faith, believing that God can do all things.
