“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Colossians 3:16-17

Lots of young people choose to spend their summers at Christian camps and festivals, meeting with up to thousands of other Christians worshipping together and spending the best part of a week going deeper into God’s Word. These are such wonderful opportunities for concentrated time with God and with peers that can often be so catalytic or pivotal for young people in their faith. Often when hearing testimonies of young people, it is moments like these that really stand out and significant moments in people’s spiritual journeys.

Satellites is just such a festival! Full of talks, seminars, worship, sports and creative arts and specifically for young people, thousands come together for five days of fun with each other and with Jesus! A number of local churches bring youth groups, here’s what Phoebe from St Thomas’ Church Lancaster said about it:

‘We went to Satellites this summer and had an amazing time. It was so encouraging being around so many other young people that love Jesus too.  The worship was really inspiring and it helped me deepen my relationship with God. I really enjoyed the talks, one particular one about not feeling pressured to fit into societies stereotypes but about following Gods specific plan for my life. I can’t wait to go next year!’
