Look at the birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to Him than they.
(Matthew 6:26)

Most of us see birds every day, whether in our gardens, parks, walks to work or the shop, as we’re driving around. Birds are amazing and wonderfully diverse: bright and vibrant colours, tiny and delicate, big and majestic, airborne, waterborne, birds of prey and many more. And yet none of them worry about what they look like or how they get around, they just are. Their Heavenly father feeds them and clothes them in splendour each day. Think about the glorious peacock or flamingo. The impressive eagle or the intricate hummingbird. And yet the Bible tells us we are far more valuable to our Father than they.

Isaiah tells us that those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength and rise on wings like eagles. As we head into a long and often very busy term, with colder days and longer nights, we can trust that the Lord will provide all we need, that in any season, we too can rise on wings like eagles.

I love the way Jesus uses something we see every day (birds) to remind us of something we succumb to every day (worry). What if every bird you saw this week was like a notification or alert on your phone…reminding you…
‘you don’t need to worry’
‘Father can be trusted’
‘You are so valuable’
